Great Telugu movies: Mayabazar

Mayabazar completed 50 years of its first release. It is regarded as best Telugu movie by critics and ordinary viewers. Mayabazar was released on March 27, 1957.

Story: It is a clearly woven fiction story based on Mahabharata (Hindu Mythology).

Highlights:

1. It is a mixture of mythological and social fantasy.
2. This movie’s screen play is a lesson for every writer and director. Director and writer took 8 months to prepare screen play for this epic movie.
3. The actors and actresses were not merely acted, but lived in their roles.

4. It was produced by Nagireddy and Chakrapani under Vijaya banner.
Director and screen play writer was K.V. Reddy. Story and songs writer was Pingali Nagendra Rao. Music director was Ghantasala and S. Rajeswara Rao (for 3 songs). Photographer was Marcus Bartley.

5. Though it was a story of “Pandavas”, they never appeared on the screen but audience are under delusion that Pandavas are there in every scene.
6. Cost of production at that time was 2.6 million which was very high at that time.
7. Among the actors who acted in the movie, only 3 actors are still living today. They are Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Gummadi and Mikkilineni.

8. N.T.Ramarao who played the Lord Krishna role in that movie later became real God to Telugu audience. In those days, the portrait of NTR as Lord Krishna was adored the every house in Andhra Pradesh.
9. The songs like “Vivaha Bhojanambu”, “Lahiri Lahirilo” are still ringing in the ears of every Telugu cine goer.
10. It is the favourite movie of Magastar Chiranjeevi.

Super hit at Box office type of cinemas are there, but maintaining the No.1 position for as long as 50 years like this Mayabazar movie is an extra ordinary thing. One must see the movie to find its greatness. It is difficult to describe its greatness in words.

Review: Top 5 Telugu hero fans sites (As per Alexa rankings)

Telugu cinema heroes have strong fans associations all over the state. There is some fierce competition among hero fan clubs. This competition spreads to internet also. Fans of top heroes have very good websites . I have selected top 5 Telugu hero fans sites based on the alexa rankings. Top 3 sites have narrow difference in the alexa rankings.

These rankings are as on the January 3, 2007.

1. Nandamuri Fans Site: (Alexa Rank - 53,621)

This website is for the fans of Nandamuri family. Nandamuri fans website rose to number one spot with its rare multimedia content. It has some good video collections on NTR and Balakrishna.
Pros: Good website Design, Rare photos and videos.
Cons: No audio content.
Must watch: N.T.Rama rao speech on the occasion of Ugaadi festival.
2. Nagarjuna Fans Site: (Alexa Rank - 53,892)
Akkineni Nagarjuna fans site is in the number two spot. This site has good articles and reviews.
This site needs more videos to reach higher rankings.
Pros: Good articles and more female fans.
Cons: Lack of mass fans may lower its ranking in the future.
3. Mahesh Babu Fans Site: (Alexa Rank - 53,909)
Mahesh Babu fans site is more NRI oriented. Most of the content (images) is America centric.
Pros: NRI's love this website.
Cons: Needs to add more andhra content.
4. Nandamuri Balakrishna Fans Site: (Alexa Rank - 87,957)

This Balakrishna fans site is rich in content and worst in design. This is the worst designed website among all fans sites. Too many ads make the user browsing experience troublesome.
This site should learn a lesson from indiatimes.com. When you have more conent, you should organise it i properway.
Pros: Best in content among all fans sites.
Cons: Worst in design.
5. Chiranjeevi Fans Site: (Alexa Rank - 1,09,494)
6. Pavan Kalyan Fans Site: (Alexa Rank - 1,37,897)
Though both heroes command large fan following, lack of content makes these sites lie so low in the alexa rankings.
Pros: Pawan fans site has good design.
Cons: Chiranjeevi fans site needs complete make over.
I cann't understand why these sites are using outdated web design techniques. Learn lessons from web 2.0 sites. Just compare Rediff.com's new design with old one.
In my opinion, all these sites have the fan base to break Alexa 10,000 barrier.
